ELLIOT B. SPECTOR was admitted to the
Connecticut and U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut bars
in 1979 and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit in 1981.
Mr. Spector received his Bachelor of Arts in 1969 and his Juris
Doctor in 1981, both from the University of Connecticut. He received
an additional Bachelor of Arts from the University of Hartford in
1975.
Attorney Spector is the President of The Connecticut Criminal
Law Foundation, Inc., a non-profit teaching organization that has
provided certified training to thousands of law enforcement officials
for over thirty-five years. He lectures nationally including an
annual liability legal update to police and municipal attorneys
and has served on legal advisory committees for the Department of
Justice, the National Institute of Justice, the Federal Bureau of
Investigation and other federal and state agencies. He is widely
published and has acted as a legal advisor to the Municipal Police
Training Council and numerous law enforcement agencies.
Mr. Spector is a professor of criminal justice and public safety
at the University of Connecticut. Prior to practicing law, Attorney
Spector was a police officer with the Hartford Police Department.
Attorney Spector is a member of the Connecticut and Hartford County
Bar Associations.
